Farmers use chemical (e) fertilizers and insecticide in their fields to grow more food. The rain and floods wash (f) away some of the chemicals. They get mixed (g) with river water, canal water and pond water. Mills and factories pollute water (h) by through the waste and even sail boats can pollute water by throwing oil, food (i) waste and human waste into the rivers and canals. Unsanitary latrines in the countryside (j) stand on the banks of the rivers and canals also pollute water.

  1. Physical fitness is a precondition to lead a healthy life. (শারীরিক সুস্থতা হল একটি স্বাস্থ্যকর জীবন যাপনের পূর্বশর্ত।)

  2. Physical exercise is essential for achieving physical fitness. (শারীরিক ব্যায়াম শারীরিক সুস্থতা অর্জনের জন্য অপরিহার্য।)

  3. People of all ages should take physical exercise regularly. (সব বয়সের মানুষের নিয়মিত শারীরিক ব্যায়াম করা উচিত।)

  5. Beside physical exercise everybody should take a balanced diet. (শারীরিক ব্যায়ামের পাশাপাশি প্রত্যেকেরই একটি সুষম খাদ্য গ্রহণ করা উচিত।)




3/    In the year since the first death from Covid-19 was (a) confirmed in Bangladesh, over 8,500 lives have (b) been lost to the highly infectious novel coronavirus in the country. No one (c) has been spared by Covid-19. Victims (d) include teachers, students, judges, lawyers, policemen, businessmen, artists and more. The virus has been (e) surging once again in recent times and 11 more people (f) succumbed to Covid-19 on Wednesday. The government has (g) ramped up awareness campaigns on the need to wear masks and (h) follow health guidelines, while the number of available hospital beds (i) dwindles. Furthermore, the emergence of new variants of the coronavirus has (j) made efforts to contain transmission even more important.

The (a) Liberation War of Bangladesh is a memorable event in our (b) national life. Bangladesh achieved her (c) independence through sacrifice and blood-shed. On the night of March 25, 1971, the Pakistan army fell upon the (d) unarmed sleeping Bangalees. But the Bangalees were not cowards. They built up strong resistance against the (e) occupying forces.



7/       He had lack (a) of money but he was kind (b) to the poor. He would try heart and soul to take pity (c) on the poor. In his area he was noted (d) for his kindness. The helpless poor would depend (e) on him.




8/   The main elements of human environment are men, animals, plants, soil, air and water. (a) If these relationship are disturbed, life becomes difficult or impossible. (b) For example, if a man does not irrigate the paddy field, the crops will die. If the crops die, man will have no food to eat and he will not be strong enough to irrigate the crops. This is like a circle. (c) In fact, there are many such circles in our environment. (d) Therefore, we must keep the environment balanced. It is also very important to keep the environment free from pollution. (e) However, by many unwise acts he/she pollutes the environment. As a result, human life is under a great threat.
